Ben Franklin Awards Dinner

Ben Franklin Awards Dinner

Each year, the Printing Industries of Michigan (PIM) hosts the Ben Franklin Awards Dinner, an event that honors excellence within the Michigan printing industry.  PIM is a non-profit trade association that serves commercial printing and graphic communications companies throughout the state.  We are thrilled to announce that The Envelope Printery was this years’ recipient of Corporation of the Year.  This is the first time an envelope corporation has been granted the award, and the Printery was chosen because of our commitment to growth, expansion and technological advancement.

The 35th annual Ben Franklin Awards Dinner was held Tuesday, January 16 at Laurel Manor in Livonia, MI.  Attendees from The Printery include CEO David Hamilton, President Kirk Clemence, partners Diana Clemence and Ken Hamilton, sales representatives Kelly Hamilton, Ed Mkrtumian, Patrick Kukla, Bob Muehl and Scott Oshinsky, customer service representatives Jody Andrews and Christina Hinojosa and estimator Bill Datson.  The event consisted of cocktails, dinner and an award ceremony.  PIM not only honored the Printery, but also recognized Greg Campbell and John Raithel as Individuals of the Year and awarded four scholarships to students pursuing a career in the communications industry.

Dave Hamilton accepted the award for Corporation of the Year and spoke on behalf of The Envelope Printery and its 93 employees.  Hamilton was introduced by friend of 40 years and fellow printing industry professional Mike Medved.  A PIM award veteran, Hamilton was honored as Individual of the Year at the 20th annual Ben Franklin Awards Dinner.  A meteor passed overhead as Hamilton spoke of the company’s growth over the last 33 years.

We at the Printery are pleased to be named 2018 Corporation of the Year. We look forward to a year of continued development and growth, especially with the addition of our new W+D 627 machine that allows for the customizable shaping of envelopes.  We would like to express our gratitude to the Printing Industries of Michigan and hope to make 2018 a year of success and improvement as Corporation of the Year.
